Substitute and Paraprofessional Eligibility

​

Substitute Teacher:

Eligibility for substitute teaching begins with at least 90-semester units and currently enrolled in a 4-year University, or a Bachelor's degree or higher, OR we can work with you to find a degree completion program that's a good fit AND you can join our uncredentialled substitute pool immediately.

  • Possess a valid teaching credential or Certificate of Clearance on the CTC website. (We can help you transfer your out-of-state or out-of-country teaching license)

  • Meet the basic skills requirement:

    • Take the CBEST test, or

    • Have qualified scores on  SAT, ACT, or AP, or

    • Let us evaluate your transcripts to see if you meet this requirement via undergraduate coursework. 

  • Complete a Guest Educator application with EFC

  • You will be invited to a short interview via phone with one of our hiring managers and, should you advance, receive a contract to begin subbing. 

  • Choose assignments and grade levels - working with us is flexible around your schedule 

  • Becoming a Guest Educator can oftentimes lead to full-time teaching positions and/or opportunities to grow your practice and earn a preliminary credential, just ask us how!

Paraprofessional and Non-Credentialed Substitutes:

​Eligibility:

  • High School Diploma (AA or BA  degrees  are preferred, but  not required) 

  • Six Units of Early Childhood Education are preferred but not required

​
